Software Assurance

1 February 2016, Far South Networks introduced the Software Assurance service model.
26 August 2020, all Com.X and Wanderbox PBX products ship inclusive of the 3CX PBX software package!

What is Software Assurance?

Software Assurance (SA) encapsulates Far South’s eco-system for providing service and support to its Reseller’s and their customers utilising Far South Networks equipment.

This “standard” software assurance model applies to Far South Gateway products and older Far South PBX products, which includes:

  • Software updates: via a cloud based software “repository”
  • License updates: software updates and feature releases
  • Technical Support
    • 3rd line technical support from Far South Networks
    • 2nd line technical support from distribution partner

Software assurance is valid for 1 year (365 days) from the date of purchase.

 

On the 26th August 2020, all new PBX products will ship with an integrated 3CX PBX software package (for reference, see “Far South 3CX PBX wiki link”).

The Far South 3CX PBX Appliance product consists of:

  • 3CX PBX software, supplied by Far south under general 3CX license T&C (see below)
  • Far South software eco-system:
    • Cloud based software “repository”, for remote s/w upgrades
    • Operating system and hardware support (drivers)
    • Virtual Com.X (VCX) Gateway software
    • Comma UI: providing essential system tools for network configuration, firewall, system diagnostics and software maintenance

Thus the customer is “assured” access to all new features and functions made available from the Far South Networks online repository for the total validity period of its s/w assurance.

Gateway Software Assurance

Standard SA services apply to all Gateway products.

PBX Software Assurance

Far South PBX products purchased before 26th August:

  • Standard SA services apply to all existing PBX products
  • No further SA contracts will be sold after this date

Far South 3CX PBX Appliance products sold on or after 26th August:

  • 3CX license T&C apply (see below)
  • Far South T&C apply for 3CX licenses sold (see below)

Terms and Conditions

Hardware Warranties

All Far South products ship with 1 year limited hardware warranty.

Extended hardware warranties may be purchase for application to Far South Networks hardware products.

Extended warranties can be purchase in 1 year increments, up to a maximum of 5 years.

Where the hardware warranty has expired, warranty may not be renewed!

Software Warranties

Commercial 3CX licenses are purchased annually, with pricing based on the number of simultaneous calls required.

What’s included in the 3CX annual subscription?:

  • 3CX SMTP Service – receive missed call, voicemail and meeting notifications
  • Smartphone Apps – updates and pop-up notifications
  • Security updates
  • 3CX FQDN service
  • Auto-renewal of Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate
  • PBX Upgrades and Updates – includes new features, fixes and interops.
  • IP Phone Firmware and Template Updates
  • CRM Updates and additions
  • VoIP Provider Templates Updates and additions
  • 3CX WebMeeting – Web conferencing features for all users

What services are available from within the Far South Networks eco-system where a valid 3CX annual license is purchased from Far South Networks?:

  • Access to the s/w repository – for software updates to Operating system, Hardware drivers, VCX s/w updates, Comma UI updates
  • TDM hardware management – VCX enabled
  • Networking and Diagnostics – Comma UI enabled
  • Technical support

RMA Procedures

Far South Networks undertakes to service defective hardware under RMA via its distribution & Value Added Reseller partners and provides software and firmware updates in resolution of software issues, provided the product in question is still under software assurance or have a valid 3CX license supplied by Far South Networks.

Where any product is returned for service under RMA and where the SA contract or 3CX license has expired, will be required to purchase the necessary licenses to return to service  (this ensures they are returned to customer with the latest supported software for that model).
